The Silver Lake Chamber of Commerce announces first-annual
“SILVER LAKE HOLIDAY NIGHTS OUT 2010”
November 22, 2010 (Los Angeles, CA) – The Silver Lake Chamber of Commerce announces its first annual “Silver Lake Holiday Nights Out” – a month-long celebration between local business and the community that encourages neighbors to mingle, shop and enjoy live musical acts, caroling and holiday treats on December 3rd, 10th and 17th from 6-9pm.
“We really wanted to encourage everyone to come out and enjoy this neighborhood,” says Steve Melendrez, Silver Lake Chamber President and owner of the Living Room. “Times are tough, but there’s still so much to celebrate – we have a great community filled with art, music and culture. We wanted to create a way for everyone to hit the streets, have a place to come together as a community and in the process, support local business.”
Participating businesses like the Living Room, Matrushka, Alegria, Sumi, Gogosha Optical Boutique, Grey, Mornings & Nights Café, Lark Cake Shop, Stark Waxing Studio, Tarascos, Cats & Dogs, Tomboy, The Raven, Blair’s, the Cauldron, Michelangelo’s, Monkeyhouse Toys, Clover, Minettes, Luxe de Ville, Mesh & Lace, The Hive, Yolk, La Mill, Lake and The Runway Report along Sunset, Hyperion, Rowena, Glendale and Silver Lake Boulevard will host silent auctions, compete in a window display contest and offer holiday sales, sweet treats, eggnog and cider. Live music will be scattered at various locations and carolers will make their way from street to street.
“We want everyone who lives in Silver Lake and loves this neighborhood to come hang out for the holidays and keep it local,” says Melendrez. “All of the businesses are excited to have a huge holiday neighborhood block party!”

As we all well know Silver Lake is an excellent place to live and work.. C Magazine has recently published a piece praising the ‘edgy excellence’ that we have all come to know and love.
Among the businesses celebrated as ‘encapsulating the bon vivant buzz’ of the area were several SLCC members. Props to Yas, Lark and LaMill for catching the eye of the editors. Check out the article here: http://www.magazinec.com/?p=2731
C also featured two blocks of Silver Lake Boulevard as a ‘Top Block’ part of the Best of LA. They liked LaMill, Spaceland, Yolk and Natural Mind Salon. Check out the article here: http://www.magazinec.com/?p=2650
