Attended the Silver Lake Library grand opening
It was a long awaited event but definitely worth the wait. The neighborhood filled the steps leading up to the library and the street in anticipation of the grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony. Mayor Villigarosa, Councilman Eric Garcetti & Councilman Tom LaBonge all praised the library and the many efforts it took to make it happen. The large open space, expansive area of glass providing natural light and the use of stone, metal & glass is a perfect architectural fit to the community. This year’s Silver Lake Art Crawl will be held on the weekend of November 7-8, 2009. There will be an official party on the Hollyhock House Lawn at Barnsdall Art Park on Sunday afternoon. If you wish to participate in Wine Tasting Event there will be a charge.

Silver Lake Art Collective Fall Exhibit
Please join the Silver Lake Art Collective for its Fall Exhibit. The exhibition will be open from Saturday, November 7th through Sunday, November 29th at the Citibank Art Space 2450 Glendale Blvd. The gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday 11am-5pm (with the exception of Thursday & Friday, November 26 & 27). The opening reception will be Saturday, November 7th from 6pm-10pm and the closing event will be Sunday, November 29th 11am-5pm. The Artist’s Open Studio Tour will be held on two consequtive weekends, November 7-8 and November 14-15. Halloween Events 2009
Come join us at King Middle School on Saturday October 31st for our Annual Scarefest Halloween Carnival!
This event is fun for all ages and will include games, food, and interactive displays. Also don’t be too afraid to take a walk through our Haunted Maze of Fear!
